Our first date.

15 years ago tonight Trent and I started offically dating. You can tell two things from this picture. A- I wasn't a member of the church yet, as you can tell by my dress and B- I was very nervous, as you can tell by the fact that he is still holding the corsage. Both facts that still embrass me today. lol Hard to believe it has been so long. We look so young. When we left that night my mom called my aunt and then my grandma to tell them that she had just meet her future son-in-law. Something that she loves reminding us about still. I guess it must have been written on us somewhere. My mom wasn't the only one in my family to see it. Anyway, here is us so many years ago not knowing what was in store for us, not knowing what we were starting, not knowing that an eternity of happiness was waiting. I think that is the strangest part. Remembering standing there, and not realizing that my future was standing right next to me. I was just trying not to look as nervous as I felt. lol Ok enough mushy stuff. :D

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Satruday also happened to be my mom's birthday. My aunt made her a really pretty cake.

The kids had fun helping grandma open her present.

And mom got to have fun at the zoo also.

She said she had a nice birthday. I sure hope so.

Boo at the Zoo!

This weekend we took the kids to the Chaffee Zoo in Fresno for Paige's 3rd birthday trip. The zoo does this thing called Zoo Boo. The kids can go trick-or-treating all around the zoo while seeing the animals. We left on Friday and went to my Aunt Carol's house to stay the weekend. Then Satruday evening we headed to the zoo. Vicki and my mom both went with. It was great fun to have both grandmas, Aunt Carol and my cousin Johnny go with us.

Here they are trick-or-treating.

Paige and this little goat in the petting zoo sure took a liking to each other

Most of the kids at the zoo were dressed in their costumes. All of us just wore Halloween shirts. Here are my boys in theirs.

Pretty waterfall. :)

There was a mantaray pool that we could touch the manta rays, sting rays, horseshoe crabs and a few little tiger sharks as they swam by. Caden wouldn't even put his hand in the water but he did like looking at the sharks. Tricia just wanted to splash the water, who cares what is in there. Rees and Paige tried to touch the manta rays but when Rees saw a shark coming he would grab me hand. "Mom get it out of there"

One of the zoo workers was "riding" this octrich around the zoo. It was really cute.

We really did have a great time. It was alot of fun for the kids to see all the animals. They liked seeing all the costumes and the trick-or-treating was a big hit.

P.S.
I will add some more pictures to my photobucket.

Second Place!

I enter this picture in our city fair and found out today that I won second place in its division. Not to bad. I am pretty happy.

Kids say the smartest things!

Trent took Paige with him to drop the boys off at school this morning. While drive to ran and errand after dropping them off Paige was in the back chattering. "Look there is two lights" "I see a truck" Normal kid stuff. Then while stopped at a light, Paige said. "Daddy?" Trent said yes. "There are alot of people in California" she informed him. He was quite shocked that our almost 3 year old could make such imformed statement. We didn't realize she even had the concept of what California was. Anyway, just wanted to share this cute comment and my clever daughter. :)

High school tag

1. Did you date someone from your school? Yes and 15 years later he is still stuck with me. :)

2. What kind of car did you drive? Didn't drive until after high school

3. Were you a party animal? No

4. Were you considered a flirt? I don't think I was.

5. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? No

6. What was your most embarrassing moment of high school? You want us to share this. lol Ok here goes. I have always been rather big chested, which means alot of cleveage whether I want it or not. Anyway, one day at luch a guy friend of mine started tossing ice at some of us and he managed to toss a piece right in my shirt. So I had a piece of ice in my...um.... cleveage and not a real easy way to get it out. So yeah you can imagine how fun that was. lol

7. Were you a nerd? No. I was somewhere in between nerd and popular.

8. Were you on any varsity teams? Yes, soccer team.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Oh my No.

10. Can you still sing the fight song? If I thought about it for a minute I am sure it would come back to me. Yep, I can sing it. lol

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Mr. Bell (Math) and Mrs. Shaffer (Art, actaully that was my favorite class all the way around but that is another story)

12. What was your school's full name? Sherman E. Burroughs High School

13. School mascot? Burro

14. Did you go to homecoming, and with who? I went my Jr. year with Trent Ratliff. :D

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? Not really. I had the best and worst times of my life in high school quite literally. And I don't really have any need to relive any of it. The best parts are still with my today and the worst I have worked hard to put behind me.

16. What do you remember most about graduation? Missing it. It is the one thing I regret most in my life. Not getting a real senior year. (This is a result of the worst part)

17. Where did you go senior skip day? Didn't get a senior skip day.

18. Were you in a club? No

19. Have you gained some weight since then? Oh my goodness yes. I laugh at myself quite often when I see picture from then. I so thought I was fat in high school. If I had only known. lol

20. Who was your prom date? I only went my Jr year and Trent was my date.

21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? I wanted to go but it was about a week after I had Paige and with having a c-section I just couldn't.

22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? I think I would have tried to stick it out. I am not sure in the sitution I was in that I could have made it through my senior year but I do regret missing all the things that go with it. All in all I think I did the best that I could. And my sophmore and jurior years were good.

I tag my mom. :)

Caden's first field trip

Caden's class went to Murray Family Farms to visit a pumpkin patch amoung other things. Although it was a long trip, it was really a fun place. There was a huge maze that they called the spider maze. When you got to the end there was a big activity area with a hay pyraimd to climb, a small ball pen, and a big spider that you could move the legs. The kids got to go to a petting zoo. We had a hay ride to the pumpkin patch where each child got to pick a pumpkin to keep. After that the kids had lunch in a big shady picnic area. Not to bad for $5.

Caden in the spider maze.

When we asked Caden what his favorite part was he said petting the goat.

Finally a choose

Like so many of you, I was very upset to find that PG&E had given money for the No on Prop8. As we have PG&E as our natural gas provider, I wanted them to no this was wrong and I was upset that I had no choose but to use them. Well maybe we do have a choose. I just got this link in an email. No to PG&E. I am still looking into it but I thought I would share that there maybe other options out there and what better way to get a message across to PG&E then to drop there service. I hope that this will really work. *crosses fingers*

Do you have Lady shoes?

Well Paige does. She found an old pair of her Sunday shoes and put them on yesterday. Caden told her that she looked like a Lady. So now she is calling dress shoes, Lady shoes. She put them on again this morning. They were three sizes to small, so you can imagine what her foot looked like stuck in those shoes. So with the promise of new Lady shoes we got her to take off the too small ones and headed to the red store (Wal-mart) right after getting the boys. Grandma bought her some new Lady shoes. She is really cute.

Here is my little lady with her new shoes.

I asked her for one more and this is what I got. I guess she is only so much a lady. LOL

Just a quick change!

I am so getting into the Halloween spirit already. Wanted to get a new background up here to help with that. Hope everyone is doing well.
